Ultimaker Breakaway: easy-to-remove support material

Ultimaker Breakaway is a specialised support material designed for dual-extrusion 3D printing. Unlike water-soluble supports, Breakaway is engineered to be removed quickly and cleanly by hand, with pliers, or a craft knife. This eliminates the need for soaking or long drying times, allowing you to move from print to post-processing immediately.

This material is particularly effective for flat or angled surfaces and is the ideal choice for use with moisture-sensitive filaments, such as Nylon, where water-soluble supports like PVA may be less suitable.

Printing with Breakaway:

Important: Although a support material, Ultimaker Breakaway is designed to be printed using an AA print core (0.4 mm). While BB cores are optimised for PVA, the AA core provides the correct thermal and extrusion properties for optimal results with Breakaway.

Compatibility: Breakaway works with most materials in the Ultimaker range, including PLA, Tough PLA, ABS, Nylon, and CPE.
