The heated build plate assembly is the thermal heart of the UltiMaker S5, engineered to provide a stable and uniform temperature across the entire 357 x 278.5 mm build area. This assembly consists of a high-grade aluminium spreader plate coupled with an industrial heating mat. It is designed to facilitate the successful adhesion of a wide range of materials, from standard PLA to engineering-grade filaments like ABS and CPE, by maintaining precise thermal control and preventing the warping associated with uneven cooling.

If your printer is experiencing "Heater bed error" messages, inconsistent temperature readings, or failure to reach target heat levels, the internal thermal fuse or heating elements may have reached the end of their service life. Replacing the entire assembly ensures that your S5 remains reliable for long-duration industrial prints, providing the consistent thermal environment necessary for dimensional accuracy.

What is in the kit?

• Aluminium plate assembly: The primary 357 x 278.5 mm surface with integrated mounting bolts and pre-installed heating mat.
• Integrated heating cable: A high-flex power and data loom designed for a direct connection to the S5's electronics.
• Heat-resistant cable tie: A specialised tie-wrap for securing the cable to the Z-stage base plate, ensuring safe cable management during vertical movement.

Note: This part is not interchangeable with the thicker magnetic build plate systems found on the UltiMaker S7, S8, or Factor 4.
