The UltiMaker Print Core DD is a highly specialised component developed specifically for the UltiMaker Metal Expansion Kit. It is engineered to extrude the BASF Forward AM Ultrafuse® Support Layer, a material essential for creating complex geometries in stainless steel. The DD core ensures the interface between the metal "green part" and its support structure is perfectly maintained, allowing effortless removal after the sintering process.

Using a dedicated core for the support layer eliminates the risk of cross-contamination between materials, ensuring the structural integrity and surface finish of your final metal components.

Important safety & technical note:

The Print Core DD is not compatible with the UltiMaker 3 or 3 Extended. The feeder system on the UltiMaker 3 is not designed to handle the abrasive materials typically used with this core; attempting to use the DD core on these machines may lead to premature feeder wear and potential mechanical failure.

Maintenance tip:

Because the Support Layer material is brittle and abrasive, ensure your Bowden tubes are clean and free of debris. We recommend following the dedicated "Metal Expansion Kit" cleaning procedure in UltiMaker Cura before and after every metal print job to maintain optimal flow through the DD core.
