Formlabs Colour Base Resin V1 is the foundation of the first integrated colour mixing system for stereolithography. This innovative material allows you to create custom-coloured 3D prints across a vast spectrum without the need for manual painting or secondary finishing. By mixing specific pigment concentrates into the Colour Base, you can produce vibrant, opaque parts that maintain their colour throughout the entire cross-section of the object, making it ideal for high-fidelity prototypes, architectural models, and consumer product concepts.

The Colour Kit system provides a professional alternative to standard monochrome resins, offering the same high-resolution surface finish and mechanical reliability found in the Formlabs Standard Resin family. It supports ultra-fine print resolutions of 100, 50, and 25 microns, ensuring that even the most intricate details are captured with crisp edges and smooth gradients. The colour mixing process:

To achieve successful results, the Colour Base requires the addition of Formlabs Pigments. You can find the exact pigment ratios here (at the bottom of the page). Creating a custom colour involves three primary steps:

• Measure: Add the specific volume of pigments (CMYKW) to the Colour Base cartridge using the provided syringes.
• Mix: Shake the cartridge vigorously for 4 minutes to ensure the pigments are chemically dispersed throughout the base resin.
• Print: Insert the cartridge and select the "Colour" material profile in PreForm to begin your print.
