Brand: UltiMaker
UltiMaker switch bay for S-series and UM3 printers (80-133263). This essential mechanical component enables the lifting and lowering of Print Core 2, ensuring seamless dual-extrusion performance and preventing nozzle interference during 3D printing.
On backorder
The switch bay is a vital mechanical component located in the right-rear corner of the printer's interior. It facilitates the dual-extrusion process by physically toggling the lift mechanism within the print head. When the printer needs to switch between Print Core 1 and Print Core 2, the head travels to this bay to either lift the second core out of the way or lower it into the printing position. This precise mechanical "handshake" ensures that the inactive nozzle does not scrape against the printed object or interfere with the active extrusion path.
Because this part relies on physical contact with the print head's lift switch, it can eventually show signs of wear or mechanical fatigue. A worn switch bay may lead to "Print Core 2 not lowered" errors or issues with nozzle height consistency during dual-material prints. Replacing this unit restores the crisp, reliable switching action required for complex geometry and water-soluble support printing.
This switch bay is a standard component for the following dual-extrusion models:
