Colour Base Resin is the foundational material for the Formlabs Colour Kit, the first integrated colour-mixing solution for resin 3D printing. By mixing Colour Base Resin with specific Colour Kit pigments, you can produce parts in a wide spectrum of colours directly off the printer, eliminating the need for manual painting, dyeing, or labour-intensive finishing.

This 1-litre cartridge (0.84l net volume) is optimised for the Form 4 ecosystem. It provides a smooth, matte surface finish and the mechanical properties of a general-purpose resin, making it a perfect starting point for creating custom-coloured aesthetic prototypes and high-resolution concept models.

Mixing and processing:

Colour Base Resin must be mixed with Colour Kit pigments according to specific recipes before printing. Once mixed, the resulting Colour Resin behaves similarly to other general-purpose resins. While post-curing is optional, Formlabs recommends a short cycle to reduce surface tack and achieve the best mechanical performance.

The foundational step in any SLA post-processing workflow is to remove any excess resin on the surface of the parts through an alcohol or ether wash.
