UltiMaker PET CF for high-performance composite applications

UltiMaker PET CF (carbon fibre) is a high-performance composite filament engineered for industrial-grade strength and stiffness on the S-Series platform. Combining PET’s chemical resistance with carbon fibre reinforcement, it is ideal for functional prototypes, production tools, and high-demand replacement parts. PET CF exhibits low moisture sensitivity, ensuring a consistent printing process in standard workshop environments.

A key advantage is its ability to be annealed. Using a programmable oven, mechanical properties are significantly improved, raising temperature resistance from 80°C to 181°C and increasing strength by up to 30%.

Compatibility:

PET CF is designed for professional UltiMaker printers and requires a wear-resistant core:

• Mandatory: UltiMaker Print Core CC (0.4 mm or 0.6 mm)
• Support materials: Fully compatible with PVA and Breakaway for geometric freedom.

Annealing and maintenance:

Use the annealing profile in UltiMaker Cura for peak performance. An industrial convection oven (e.g., Binder FP115) is recommended for controlled heating and cooling ramps. If unavailable, 8–12 hours at 80–100°C is suitable. Important: Only print with a Print Core CC to avoid nozzle damage. Store filament in a resealable bag with desiccant or in a Material Station to preserve properties.
