Ultimaker CPE+: superior heat and impact resistance
Ultimaker CPE+ (co-polyester) is a high-performance material engineered for the most demanding functional prototypes and mechanical parts. While it shares the excellent chemical resistance of standard CPE, CPE+ is formulated to provide significantly higher temperature resistance and superior impact strength, making it ideal for industrial components that must perform under stress.
This NFC-enabled spool features an integrated chip that communicates directly with your Ultimaker printer. The system automatically recognises the material properties and colour, ensuring the correct print settings are applied and minimising the risk of configuration errors.
Key benefits:
- High temperature resistance: Capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 100 °C, compared to the 70 °C limit of standard CPE.
- Enhanced impact strength: Formulated to be up to 10 times tougher than standard CPE, providing exceptional durability against mechanical shocks.
- Excellent chemical resistance: Highly resistant to oils, greases, and common industrial chemicals.
- Dimensional stability: Maintains precise tolerances over long print jobs, ensuring your custom-made components fit perfectly.
The differences between Ultimaker CPE and CPE+:
- Performance: CPE+ is specifically designed for extreme toughness and heat, whereas standard CPE offers higher tensile and flexural strength for rigid parts.
- Colour range: Standard CPE is available in a wider variety of colours; CPE+ focuses on professional transparent, black, and white options.
- Adhesion: Standard CPE typically adheres more easily to the build plate. For CPE+, we recommend using the Advanced 3D Printing Kit or specialised adhesives for optimal results.
Applications:
Perfect for custom industrial components requiring heat resistance, functional prototypes, short-run manufacturing, fit testing, and durable tooling.
