The capacitive print head assembly is the high-precision core of the UltiMaker S-series dual-extrusion system. This fully integrated unit is responsible for managing the thermal environment of the print cores, part cooling, and the critical "Active Levelling" process. It features a specialised capacitive sensor that allows the printer to measure the distance between the nozzles and the glass build plate at multiple points before every print. This data is used to compensate for any slight tilts or inaccuracies in the build surface, ensuring a perfect first layer and industrial-grade reliability.

Replacing the entire print head assembly is the most efficient way to resolve complex mechanical or electrical issues, such as damaged internal wiring, failing lift mechanisms, or compromised sensor signal integrity.
