Magigoo PC is designed to work exclusively with polycarbonate (PC) filaments. This adhesive is engineered for professional use, ensuring that prints adhere firmly when the print bed is hot and can be easily removed once it has cooled. This unique and innovative mechanism means that no tools are required to remove your prints from the bed; they simply pop off when the surface cools.
The strength and toughness of polycarbonate make it an ideal FDM material for producing functional prototypes and end-use parts. However, the material presents significant printing challenges. Virgin PC has a high glass transition temperature (Tg), making it suitable for high-temperature applications. This high Tg can make it difficult to print on desktop machines that are not equipped for extreme heat.
PC tends to warp significantly when printed at an insufficient bed temperature (below 130°C) or in an unheated chamber without a suitable adhesive. Magigoo PC addresses these issues by providing a reliable interfacial layer. It can be used on glass or a wide variety of other surfaces. For the strongest adhesion and to prevent parts from melting to the surface, plastic-based substrates or sheets are recommended.
Do not press the bottle too hard when applying the adhesive to the print bed to avoid flooding the surface or damaging the applicator nib.
