The capacitive sensor cable is a precision-engineered wire assembly that facilitates the active levelling process on the UltiMaker 3, S3, and S5. This short, twisted-pair cable serves as the critical signal link between the capacitive sensor board and the main print head PCB. By transmitting the high-sensitivity data required to detect the build plate's position, this cable enables the printer to compensate for minute surface deviations, ensuring a perfect first layer and consistent part adhesion across the entire glass build plate.

Because the print head undergoes constant acceleration and thermal cycling, the delicate connections of the sensor cable can occasionally suffer from fatigue or signal interference.
