Description

Formlabs BioMed Flex 80A Resin (Form 4) 1 L

BioMed Flex 80A Resin is a firm, flexible, and transparent material developed for biocompatible applications requiring durability. It is ideal for producing flexible medical devices or firm tissue models that require long-term skin contact (>30 days) or short-term mucosal membrane contact (<24 hours). This medical-grade material is manufactured in an FDA-registered, ISO 13485 certified facility.

This 1-litre cartridge is optimised for the Form 4 ecosystem, providing a high-performance solution for medical manufacturing and point-of-care applications. Its flexibility and USP Class VI certification make it an excellent choice for personalised medical components that bypass traditional moulding processes.

Why choose BioMed Flex 80A Resin?

Achieve new design possibilities and efficiencies using 3D printing and BioMed Flex 80A Resin, from producing flexible biocompatible medical devices to anatomical models requiring biocompatibility.

  • Firm yet flexible: produces durable, flexible parts with an 80A Shore hardness, perfect for medical-grade components.
  • Medical-grade material: manufactured within strict quality management systems in compliance with ISO 13485 and USP Class VI standards.
  • Transparent finish: produce clear, complex tissue models that surgeons can reference directly in the operating room.
  • Biocompatible safety: tested for long-term skin contact and short-term mucosal membrane contact.
  • Workflow efficiency: directly print patient-specific medical devices, eliminating the need for cumbersome and time-consuming moulds.

Applications for BioMed Flex 80A Resin:

Directly 3D print flexible parts requiring biocompatibility with BioMed Flex 80A Resin. Reduce workflow times by eliminating moulding to directly produce flexible, patient-specific medical devices or firm tissue medical models surgeons can reference in the O.R.

  • Flexible medical devices: biocompatible components requiring a balance of firmness and elasticity.
  • Firm tissue models: anatomical models used as surgical references for cartilage, sizing, or diseased organs.
  • Mucosal contact devices: medical instruments designed for short-term contact with mucosal membranes.
  • Personalised medical aids: custom patient-specific devices produced at the point of care.

Post-processing

Washing

The foundational step in any SLA post-processing workflow is to remove excess resin on the surface of the parts through an alcohol wash. Please refer to the material's manufacturing guide/IFU for washing instructions.

Curing

For biocompatible materials, post-curing is necessary to achieve the safety standards determined by regulatory agencies. Please follow the material’s manufacturing guide/IFU for proper post-processing.

Note: Only compatible with the Formlabs Form 4 series resin printer.
