Description

Magigoo Metal

Magigoo Metal is specifically designed as a first-layer adhesive for BASF Ultrafuse 316L metal filaments. This adhesive is non-hazardous, non-flammable, and fully approved for use in the post-processing stages of BASF Ultrafuse 316L. It is engineered to allow for the safe and easy removal of printed "green" parts from the build plate, protecting their structural integrity before the debinding and sintering process.

Why choose Magigoo Metal?

BASF Ultrafuse 316L enables the production of solid stainless steel parts using desktop FDM 3D printers. The filament consists of highly refined metal particles embedded in thermoplastic binders, eliminating the safety hazards associated with handling fine metal powders. However, due to the thermoplastic nature of these binders and the thermal cooling during printing, Ultrafuse 316L is prone to warping.

Furthermore, "green" parts (parts that have been printed but not yet sintered) are extremely delicate. Care must be taken during removal to prevent deformation. Magigoo Metal provides secure adhesion during the print and allows for a unique water-release mechanism, ensuring the part can be removed without mechanical force.

Instructions for use:

A build plate temperature of 95–105°C is recommended, though specific conditions may vary by printer.

  1. Shake: Shake the bottle well before use.
  2. Apply: Apply to the desired area by pressing the nib onto the bed to activate the internal valve, then spread evenly.
  3. Print: Follow the recommended print settings for BASF Ultrafuse 316L.
  4. Release: After printing, immerse the entire build plate in water or soak the area around the parts. After a period of 30 minutes to 2 hours (depending on part size), the part should loosen on its own or be easily removed with a gentle twist.
  5. Clean: Use a damp cloth to remove any residual adhesive from the build surface.

Safety and precautions:

  • Compatibility: Using this product with filaments other than BASF Ultrafuse 316L may cause excessive adhesion and could damage your build surface.
  • Application: Do not press the bottle too hard when applying to avoid flooding the bed or damaging the applicator nib.
